Estimates and Scheduling
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. The walkthrough and the written proposal are free, and there is no obligation to move forward.
What information should I include?
The service you are considering, your ZIP code, timing, and a short description of the project. Photos are never required, but the more context you give, the better prepared the estimator will be.
How soon will someone contact me?
Requests are reviewed and responded to promptly during business hours. You will hear from a real person who has read your request, not an autoresponder loop.
Do I need to know exactly what I want?
No. Plenty of projects start as an idea. The walkthrough is designed to turn an idea into a defined scope with a real price.
Will I get a hard sales pitch?
No. You get a walkthrough, a conversation about your goals, and a written proposal. The proposal does the selling, and the decision stays yours.
What happens after I submit this form?
A team member confirms the fit, schedules your walkthrough, and the estimator builds your written proposal from what they document on site.
Interior Painting
What interior surfaces do you paint?
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, stairways, and finished lower levels, from a single substantial room to a whole-home repaint. The walkthrough defines the exact scope for your proposal.
Do you move furniture?
Your proposal spells out what the homeowner moves, what the crew repositions, and what gets protected in place, so there are no surprises on day one.
What preparation is included in interior painting?
It depends on the condition of the surfaces. Cleaning, patching, sanding, caulking, spot priming, and masking are scoped as needed and written into the proposal.
Can you match or help select colors?
Yes. The estimator can talk through color direction during the walkthrough, and selections are confirmed before production so the schedule never stalls on a decision.
How do you protect the home during interior work?
Floors, furnishings, and fixtures are covered and masked, work areas stay organized, and the crew cleans up daily. Protection is part of the production plan, not a courtesy.
How long does an interior project take?
It depends on scope, surface condition, and drying time between coats. Your proposal includes the expected duration for your specific project, and you get updates as the work progresses.
Can you match my existing colors?
Yes. Existing colors can be matched and confirmed with a sample on your actual wall before production, so the touch-in disappears instead of flashing.
Do we need to leave the house during interior painting?
Usually not. Rooms are sequenced so the household keeps functioning, and the crew coordinates access, ventilation, and daily wrap-up around how you live.
What sheen should I use where?
As a starting point: flat for ceilings, eggshell or satin for living spaces, and semi-gloss enamel for trim and doors. The estimator walks the sheen map with you and your proposal records every selection.
What paints do you use?
The exact products are named in your written proposal, selected for the surface and the room. If low-odor or low-VOC products matter for your household, tell the estimator and the proposal is built accordingly.
Exterior Painting
What exterior surfaces do you paint?
Siding, trim, fascia, doors, shutters, and architectural details. The estimator evaluates the substrate and condition during the walkthrough before anything is priced.
What does exterior preparation involve?
Cleaning, scraping, sanding, caulking, and priming as the condition requires. Preparation is the difference between a finish that lasts and one that peels, so it is scoped in writing, never assumed.
What season can exterior painting be done in Michigan?
Exterior coatings need the right temperature and surface conditions, which in Michigan generally means the warmer months. We schedule exterior work inside that window and tell you where your project fits.
What if my trim or siding has damage?
Minor repairs can be evaluated during the walkthrough. Anything beyond painting scope is identified honestly so you can address it before the finish goes on, rather than painting over a problem.
How do you protect landscaping and the property?
Plantings, hardscape, fixtures, and neighboring surfaces are covered and protected before spraying or brushing begins, and the site is cleaned at the end of each day.
How long will an exterior paint job last?
That depends on the substrate, preparation, product system, and exposure. What we control, preparation and application, is done to the written scope, and your proposal identifies the exact products being applied.
Can vinyl siding be painted?
Often, with the right product and color selection, since dark colors on vinyl can cause heat distortion. The estimator confirms whether your siding is a good candidate during the walkthrough.
How many coats does an exterior repaint get?
The system is defined by the substrate and condition, then written into your proposal, including primer where the surface calls for it. Coat counts are stated, not implied.
What if the last paint job is peeling?
Failing coatings are dealt with in the preparation scope: scraping, sanding, feathering edges, and priming bare areas. Painting over a failure just schedules the next one.
What weather can you paint in?
Exterior coatings carry manufacturer temperature and moisture requirements, and we schedule inside them. If a day falls out of spec, your project waits for a day that does not.
Garage Floor Coatings
What is a garage floor coating?
A multi-layer resinous system applied over prepared concrete. It turns a stained, dusty slab into a sealed, cleanable floor that resists hot tires, road salt, and chemicals.
Is this the same as epoxy?
Epoxy is one family of coating products. Your proposal names the exact system being installed layer by layer, including the base, broadcast, and topcoat, so you know precisely what is going on your floor.
How is the concrete prepared?
Mechanical preparation, grinding the surface to open the concrete so the coating bonds, plus repair of cracks and spalls as scoped. Preparation is what separates a floor that lasts from one that peels.
How soon can I use the garage after coating?
Return-to-service times depend on the system and conditions, and your proposal includes a clear timeline for walking on the floor and parking on it.
Will the floor be slippery?
Texture options are part of the selection process. Broadcast media in the system adds grip, and the right level for your use is confirmed before installation.
Why do garage floors make sense in a Michigan winter?
Garage coatings are installed indoors, so they are a natural winter project. Your floor takes the worst of the season, snowmelt, salt, and grit, and a coated floor cleans up with a hose and squeegee.
What is the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?
They are different resin chemistries with different cure behavior and UV stability. What matters is that your proposal names the actual system, layer by layer, instead of hiding behind a generic word.
Can a cracked or pitted floor still be coated?
Usually, once the damage is repaired. Cracks and spalls are ground out and filled as part of the scoped preparation, so the finished floor is smooth instead of a coated version of the old problems.
Why do DIY garage kits fail?
Almost always at the surface: no mechanical grinding, moisture in the slab, and thin single-coat builds. The coating is only as good as what it is anchored to, which is why preparation leads every Saje floor.
How long does installation take?
Most residential garages install quickly, and cure milestones control the schedule more than labor does. Your proposal states the installation window and exactly when you can walk on and park on the floor.
Process and Communication
What happens after I submit an estimate request?
A team member reviews the request, confirms the service area and project fit, and reaches out to schedule the on-site walkthrough. You will know what happens next at every stage.
What happens during the walkthrough?
The estimator inspects the space, documents surfaces and conditions, talks through your goals, and clarifies what should be included. That is what makes the written proposal accurate.
What does the written proposal include?
The scope of work, the surfaces included, the preparation plan, the products being applied, and the price. If it is not in writing, you should not have to wonder about it.
Can the scope change after the proposal?
If you want to add or adjust work, changes are documented and approved before they happen. No surprise line items at the end.
How do I know what is happening during production?
You get proactive updates. You will know when the crew arrives, what stage the work is in, and what decisions remain, without having to chase anyone.
What is the final walkthrough?
Before closeout, the project is reviewed in detail and then walked with you. Anything that needs attention is addressed, and the project ends with a conversation, not just an invoice.
Warranty and Care
Does Saje warranty its work?
Yes. Coverage is written into your proposal where it is enforceable, not implied in marketing copy. Your proposal states what is covered and how to reach us if something needs attention.
What does the warranty cover?
Workmanship and the installed system as described in your proposal. Because coverage depends on the surfaces and products involved, the written proposal is always the authoritative document.
What is not covered?
Conditions outside the work itself, such as structural movement, moisture intrusion, or damage from impact or chemicals, are outlined in your proposal so expectations are clear on both sides.
How do I care for freshly painted surfaces?
Care guidance is handed off at closeout for your specific finishes: cure time, cleaning method, touch-up storage, and sheen-specific care.
How do I care for a coated garage floor?
Return-to-service timing, cleaning products, mats, and chemical precautions are covered at closeout. Day to day, a coated floor cleans up with a hose, a squeegee, or a soft broom.
What if I notice an issue after the project is done?
Contact us. The closeout handoff includes exactly how to reach us, and reported issues are inspected and addressed under the terms written in your proposal.
